Politics, as we know, can be extremely stressful. Have you ever gotten into a heated debate over political views with family? I’m sure we all have. Well, imagine then tension on Capitol Hill as the impeachment hearings on President Donald Trumpprogress.
Arguably the most polarizing President in US History, Donald Trump is under fire for a call with Ukrainian officials, asking them to investigate Joe Biden. No matter where you stand on the President I think we can all agree that US politics are so clouded with negativity and hatred. So here is a story to cheer you up.
A non-profit organization, Pet Partners joined with the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council, wanted to bring some happiness and peace to the staff at the hearings, so they took it upon themselves to bring in some four legged friends to bring a little joy.
Goldendoodle’s, Swiss Shepherd dogs and many other furry faces worked the day as therapy dogs, cuddling and playing with those at Capitol Hill, helping them de-stress from the day’s events.
According to ABC News:
“As members of the House Intelligence Committee questioned Ambassador William Taylor and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State George Kent, the squad of pups provided those on the Hill a little “pet therapy.”
This is a huge step in the right direction for addressing mental health and the positive impact animals have on stress factors and cortisol levels. Just 30 minutes spent with a dog is scientifically proven to significantly lower cortisol levels, the hormone responsible for stress, in the body.
Life is hard enough, especially in this society we are living in that is so fueled by hate and difference. This is how we learn from animals: no matter what your views, beliefs or background may be; there always a time to be kind and help someone out. Sometimes we need to put our views aside to remember that we all need kindness.
Our friends at American Service Petswant our readers to have the opportunity to receive that love and peace that animals provide when they need it. So we have partnered with them to offer our readers 50% off of their Emotional Support Animal Letter.
This means you can fly with your pet and be exempt from pet rent or “no pet policies”.
